Mendenhall Glacier
Mendenhall Glacier is one of Alaska's most accessible, iconic natural attractions, located only 12 miles from downtown Juneau. The massive glacier is 13 miles long and flows from the Juneau Icefield, nestled in a pristine wilderness in the Mendenhall Valley. Visitors can experience the icy blue beauty of Mendenhall Glacier from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Centre or hike a number of trails, like Nugget Falls Trail, for views of the glacier up close. Guided kayaking trips, glacier trekking, and wildlife viewing (bears, bald eagles, etc.) also make this a must-see destination for outdoor lovers.
