As part of our Brazil and Argentina tour, visit the most famous landmarks of the Rio city. During your holidays to Rio de Janeiro, enjoy a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon; passengers arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. We will embark on a comfortable train which will climb the mountain where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located (2,300ft above sea level). Upon arrival at the top, we have mechanised access, with panoramic elevators and escalators that take us to the foot of the statue. We make our way down on the same route and towards another world-famous landmark, the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Rising up from a small peninsula at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. This highlight of many Brazil tours unfolds in two steps via glass cable cars: The first cable car takes passengers to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215 metres above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay and its islands. From Urca Hill, passengers continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf, which rises 395 metres above sea level and offers a 360-degree view of the entire city, including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown Rio.
Experience the world's largest urban forest through an open-top Jeep ride and relaxed hike that afford close-up views of wild animals and plants. Ride through Tijuca National Park's rainforest in an open-top Jeep during this half-day trip from Rio. Today the tour starts in Bariloche, one of the best places to visit in Argentina, as you ride down Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue—a scenic, winding paved road along the Nahuel Huapi lakeshore. At 8 kilometres, you will pass by Playa Bonita, from where you will see Huemul Island. Continuing along this road for another 10 km, and after passing through breathtaking scenery, you will arrive at Campanario Hill. A chair lift will take you to the summit at 1,050 metres, where you’ll enjoy one of the most stunning panoramic views on any Argentina holiday. You will see then Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes, El Trebol lagoon, San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas, Victoria Island, Otto, Lopez, Goye and Catedral hills, and the main town, San Carlos de Bariloche. This is a highlight of many Argentina tours for its dramatic natural beauty and iconic vistas.
As the journey continues, you’ll leave San Pedro Peninsula behind and reach the Llao Llao Peninsula, with its namesake hilltop hotel and San Eduardo Chapel, two architectural jewels of this region, and go by Panuelo Port, the starting point of many lake excursions. Then you will cross the bridge over Moreno Lake at a narrow end, follow the shoreline of El Trebol lagoon, and 2 km ahead we will meet Ezequiel Bustillo Ave. again and return to Bariloche.
After breakfast we take flight to Calafate via Buenos Aires. On arrival, check in at Xelena Hotel & Suites.
After an early breakfast and an 85 km ride through beautiful Patagonia, you will arrive at the national park just outside the city of El Calafate. With a front of 80 metres high and 3 km wide, it is the only glacier in the world still growing. This excursion is aimed to be viewed from land, where you will have the opportunity to go through the various walkways. You may just catch a glimpse of falling ice tips. Making it truly an unforgettable experience.
Today you will have the opportunity to visit El Chaltén and Viedma Glacier for the day, experiencing one of the most exclusive, natural, and awe-inspiring places to go in Argentina, located in the northern area of Los Glaciares National Park. The adventure begins with a scenic sail south across the bay, where the depth of the lake allows for a smooth journey close to the shoreline—offering incredible views of Mt Fitz Roy and Mt Huemul. The sail is done in the front of the glacier's wall of 40 m high above the level of the lake, were you will be able to see big icebergs as well.
