Lake Chaxa
Lake Chaxa, located within the Los Flamencos National Reserve in northern Chile, is a breathtaking salt lagoon known for its serene beauty and abundant birdlife. The lake’s shallow, mineral-rich waters attract flocks of flamingos, making it one of the best spots in the Atacama Desert for birdwatching and photography. Surrounded by the vast Salar de Atacama and framed by distant volcanoes, Lake Chaxa offers a peaceful and surreal landscape—especially magical at sunset when the sky reflects off the still water.
