South Korea Etiquette

If you see a “no tipping” sign in Korea then don’t tip. Korean’s find tipping offensive, though in the bigger more westernised hotels - it’s often expected - but generally speaking - it’s just not done. Also, when dining out or in a bar - if you don’t want another drink - then don’t finish your last one, as an empty glass is an invite to be refilled.

Korean’s dress respectfully but well. Dress modestly, especially when entering religious grounds such as temples and other areas of worship - remember you’ll need to remove your shoes at the entrance too, and if you do find yourself doing a little business while in Korea - try not to wear jewellery - outside of a wedding band and act respectfully at all times - this means bowing in formal settings and informal, and always show respect to your elders.
