Buhoma Lodge is a top-end lodge providing superior accommodation in Uganda, located in the Buhoma sector in the north of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, literally a stone's throw from the entry point into the park; it is the perfect base to track three gorilla groups: Habyinanja, Rushegura and Mubare. The lodge was formerly Buhoma Homestead and has been beautifully refurbished with eight traditional-style cottages with en suites, large beds, private verandas, hot and cold running water and, in some cottages, bathtubs.
As one of the Uganda accommodations with higher standards, the Buhoma Lodge has an elevated lounge with a warm fire for the cool evenings as well as a restaurant that serves both local dishes like matoke with g-nuts sauce and international dishes, and where possible, supplies are bought locally, and where possible, staff are sourced locally, trained and recruited from nearby villages, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable tourism and excellence with Uganda hotels.
