Fly to Entebbe.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to the Boma Hotel.
After an early breakfast, you will start your journey to Jinja. You will enjoy a boat ride on the source of the Nile. The Nile is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa, regarded as the longest river in the world (6,853 km long). After the boat ride you will have a city tour of Jinja. Then we check in at The Haven Eco River Lodge.
After breakfast, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you shall have a walking safari to the Southern Park to trek white rhinos that have been reintroduced in Uganda. In the afternoon you will drive to the legendary Murchison Falls, from which the national park derives its name. On arrival, check in at Murchison River Lodge.
You’ll start the morning with another early game drive through the vast expanse of the savannah, Borassus palm forest, and grassland down to Lake Albert, where the Albert Nile flows north. Traverse the open African landscape in search of lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, elephants, Jackson's hartebeest, and many bird species, including the secretary bird, black-chested snake eagle, tawny/martial eagles, carmine/bearded swallow-tailed bee-eaters, and a number of others. In the afternoon you’ll take a boat ride up the Nile to the base of the breathtaking, world-renowned Murchison Falls and then hike to the top of the falls where the river dramatically squeezes through a 7-metre gorge, with views of massive Nile crocodiles basking below.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park; along the way, you will pass many tea plantations. You have the opportunity to visit a tea plantation. On arrival in Kibale, check in at Primate Lodge.
Today, you will track the well-known chimpanzees of Kibale National Park, which has over 1,450 individuals (the largest endangered chimpanzee population in Uganda), the endangered L’Hoest’s monkey, and the endangered red colobus monkey. Kibale Forest has one of the highest densities of primates in Africa, with 13 species, including black-and-white colobus, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and many more. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a guided walk in the extremely biodiverse Bigodi Swamp, and afterwards, you can choose to relax at your lodge or do a community walk in a local village.
After breakfast you will drive today to the world-famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the equator along the way. On arrival, check in at Enganzi Game Lodge Limited. Evening, enjoy your game drive.
You will start the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, which has over 100 species of mammals, including lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, elephants, spotted hyenas, the elusive giant forest hog, and primates such as chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus, blue monkeys, black-faced red colobus, red-tailed monkeys, and olive baboons. After breakfast, you will have a break at the lodge, and then in the afternoon, you will take a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel to enjoy a scenic boat ride. The landscapes vary from open savannah and rain forests to dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes, and Lake Edward, which is large!
Depart for Bwindi National Park in the morning; on your way, you will have a chance to have a game drive in the Ishasha sector where the tree-climbing lions are found, then continue to the home of the mountain gorillas. Of Uganda’s forested parks, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for gorilla tracking, but it also provides refuge to elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys and various small antelopes, as well as 23 bird species restricted to the Albertine. On arrival, check in at Buhoma Lodge.
This morning you will get up early and go for gorilla trekking. Trekking to the mountain gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the gorillas.
Enjoy your breakfast, and then we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi. On arrival, check in at Arcadia Lodges Lake Bunyonyi.
Today, drive to Lake Mburo National Park and check in at Mburo Safari Lodge. Even at the entrance to the park you can watch impalas and zebras. You will have a game drive as you enter the park. This forms a mosaic-like habitat with rocks, dry slopes, open and wooded savannas, forests, and swamps. This diversity of habitats has the diversity of bird life, with 313 bird species recorded in the park, including the flame-headed barbet, long-tailed zitting cisticola (Tabora), African Bins rail, collared barbet, and binding bush singer, among others.
After an early breakfast, you will start your journey back to Kampala, crossing the equator along the way. You will have time to take photos, buy a few souvenirs and have a quick picnic lunch. Then transfer to the airport to board your flight back to the UK.
