The Misty Fjords National Monument is one of the best things to do in Alaska at more than 800,000 hectares in southern Alaska with its awesome sea cliffs, waterfalls, glacial valleys, and coastal rainforest. This area has a great deal of precipitation, with amounts reaching 400 cm a season. It contains beautiful volcanic rock formations with glacier-carved fjords. A tour of Misty Fjords is taken aboard a comfortable yacht in this pristine wilderness, and then you have the option of a return flight by light aircraft with some incredible views from above.
