Travelling over the glistening blue waters of Lake Titicaca to the Uros Islands is one of the most unique places to travel in Peru. These floating islands are constructed from layers of totora reeds and are home to the Uros people, who, like the islands, have floated and lived there for centuries in the same traditional way. We had the opportunity to learn about the Uros people's culture, enter homes constructed from reeds, and observe what daily life is like on the lake. The Uros Islands are a beautiful high-altitude place, and they offer an exceptional insight into Peru's nature and indigenous peoples.
